Eat that Frog with a Pomodoro
You might be wondering what is a Pomodoro and why are we going to eat a frog? Don’t worry I'll explain.
Do you ever think that why we keep on delaying tasks? It is due to that gratification monkey we all have along with us, who always wants fun, play, and rest.
We all are procrastinating on something. The rational decision wants to do work but the gratification monkey never let him do that until a panic monster arises this happens
Eat that frog
Time is the most valuable thing in everyone's life. To achieve the best in our lives we have to make the best use of our time. We should work consistently with proper planning and time management. But how can we do it? The answer is the Pomodoro Technique.
Pomodoro Technique
There is a technique to increase productivity called the Pomodoro Technique and it was developed by Francesco Cirillo.
Here is what it says:
- Set 25 minutes timer and then only focus on your work
- If anything pop-ups in your mind just write it down
- Mark a tick when the timer rings and have a rest for 3–4 minutes.
- Start the timer again, and when you have 4 ticks, you can take a long break.
I am applying this technique since Sunday and it is working great for me. I have accomplished my tasks in lesser time. Whenever anything comes to my mind, I didn’t lose focus but it made me more focused.
I usually watch videos in a row with all the distractions around me. But when I come across the Pomodoro technique, I applied it to myself and the results were amazing. I completed my online course in just 2 hrs and 30min. Usually, it takes 5-6 hours to complete and I didn’t lose my focus when my WhatsApp and Facebook rings.
I have observed a great increase in my productivity after applying the Pomodoro technique. Since then I have applied in Online course 2, preparing for my interview, and now during writing this blog. I will definitely make a habit of using the Pomodoro technique so I can control my gratification monkey.
